A. The Las Vegas Market!
Just in case you can’t decide if the economy is picking up or not, consider this – the Las Vegas Market (largest bi-annual home furniture and décor showcase in the western U.S.) had it’s strongest, biggest year, setting records for both attendance and exhibit space.
Attendance to the 2014 Las Vegas Market was a staggering 21% above the numbers last year. This is a very good indication that consumers are feeling better about spending and personally I believe that changing your home environment with new furniture and décor can revive your life in a very practical way.
Here is my sneak peak regarding what trends are going to be BIG in 2014 and probably into 2015:
COLOR is BACK! The colors that were everywhere are vibrant purples with Radiant Orchid being the color of the year to lavenders, blues and of course their compliments in golds and oranges.
METAL – Silver and gold together and mixed, metal table tops with wood bases are hot.
The NATURAL LOOK – think jute, hemp and wood
FABRICS – can’t get enough linen, prints, sophisticated denims
OUTDOOR – Rugs and poufs (rounded ottomans) in durable, stain and fade resistant fabrics and in vibrant colors.
So, until I go back to the Las Vegas Market next July, watch for these trends and see how they show up in magazines, hotels, tv shows and even when you’re at Target to pick up the little things.
Enjoy your spring!
